Cobb officer hit by vehicle while in pursuit of suspects

The officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A Cobb County Police officer was hit by a vehicle during a foot pursuit of suspects Monday night.

According to police, they received a call around 5 p.m. that a motorcycle was loaded onto a a trailer and stolen from a motel on Interstate North Parkway.

Officers were able to pinpoint a general area where the motorcycle was because of the GPS tracking system that was on the bike.

Authorities said the motorcycle was near Marietta Diner off Cobb Parkway.

When an officer arrived and spotted it, three people took off running. As police pursued the suspects on foot, a Cobb County officer was hit by an uninvolved vehicle. The officer, identified as C.L. McTier, was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police said he suffered significant bruises and soreness.

Cobb Police said two of the three suspects were caught, but the third person is still on the run.
