COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A person was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning in Cobb County.
How the crash occurred was unclear. Police have not identified the victim, saying they were still working on notifying next of kin.
The incident closed Cobb Parkway near the South Marietta Loop for an extended period, as police said an investigation was underway.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but their condition was unknown. There were few details available about the crash, with Marietta Police issuing a notice at 4:02 a.m. to avoid the area.
"Marietta Police Department advises you to AVOID Cobb Pkwy South at S. Marietta Pkwy due to a pedestrian crash," MPD said.
