CONYERS, Ga. – A former deputy for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations for allegedly pawning guns.

Daniel James Lang, 38, is accused of obtaining destruction orders for police firearms and pawning the guns for cash, GBI investigators said.

Former Rockdale deputy Daniel James Lang is accused of pawning police guns for cash. He resigned from the department in April 2018.

Lang resigned from the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office on April 9, 2018, for “personal and family reasons,” according to the department. He was hired by the department in 2002.
