ATLANTA — Police say a SWAT situation in South Atlanta involving an "emotionally disturbed male in distress" has been resolved.
A crisis negotiator and the Atlanta Police SWAT team had been on scene working to de-escalate the situation Saturday, according to police.
Police said in the early afternoon SWAT units "made successful entry into the home" where they had believed a man was barricaded in the basement and secured the man.
"The male appeared to have multiple lacerations on his face prior to SWAT units making entry," Atlanta Police said. "The male was transported to the hospital where he will receive medical treatment and further evaluation. No charges pending at this time."
