$10,000 reward for information on Dawson Co. fire ruled an arson

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — State officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspected arsonist in Dawson County.

Officials said in a release on Tuesday that they now believe a fire that burned down a mobile home last week was intentionalyl set.

The fire occurred on Thursday just after noon. It burned a 1,620-square-foot, 29-year-old double-wide mobile home on Tanner Road in Dawsonville, officials said.

"The residence was vacant and no power was connected to it at the time the fire occurred," state Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King said. "It is believed the fire originated in the rear bedroom."

Anyone with information on the fire can contact the state Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804. The line is available 24 hours.
