19-year-old motorcyclist dies after excessive speed allegedly causes Cobb County crash, police say

Authorities believe excessive speed and lane violations could have played a role in the deadly incident that killed Kameron Hughes.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 19-year-old motorcyclist is now dead after a crash in Cobb County Saturday, according to police.

Authorities believe excessive speed and lane violations could have played a role in the deadly incident that killed Kameron Hughes. 

According to a news release, police said that Hughes was traveling south on his white 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle on Cobb Parkway. While approaching the North Shores Road intersection, an SUV driver was waiting to enter a northbound turn. 

The motorcycle then hit the left side of the SUV as it entered the roadway, killing Hughes. 

Police said they are still investigating the accident. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the department at 770-499-3987.
