Driver killed, 2 pedestrians hurt after crashing into The Grove Theatre: APD

Here's what we know.

ATLANTA — A driver is dead after hitting two pedestrians and crashing into The Grove Theatre Wednesday afternoon, according to Atlanta Police.

APD said the single-vehicle car crash happened at 1576 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy, which is the address of The Grove Theatre. The location is next door to an Auto Zone, where police were seen investigating, and not far from Grove Park. 

The police department's preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Kia Sedona was traveling westbound on Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy-- when the driver lost control and left the road. The SUV hit the theatre, a gate and struck two pedestrians, investigators said.

APD said the driver died from their injuries and the two pedestrians were taken to the hospital. In an update, Atlanta Police said one of the pedestrians was critically hurt and the other pedestrian was stable. 

APD's Accident Investigations Unit is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
