72-year-old woman killed, man facing DUI and other charges after crash on GA 400 in Forsyth County: sheriff

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 72-year-old woman and two dogs were killed after an accident on GA 400 in Forsyth County on Sunday night, according to the sheriff's office.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Julie Lamb of Dawsonville, 72, was crossing GA 400 at Jot 'Em Down Road when she was hit by a black pickup truck, a news release from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office stated.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver of the black pickup truck, 30-year-old Logan Moye, was traveling north on GA 400 when the traffic signal light turned red. Deputies said Lamb crossed the GA 400 and continued west on Jot 'Em Down Road. According to authorities, the Moye was traveling at a speed-- where he could not stop at the traffic signal light.

Lamb died on impact, authorities added. Deputies also found two dogs that died in the crash in Lamb's car.

Investigators later charged Moye with first-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, reckless driving, two counts of animal cruelty, failure to obey traffic control device and failure to use seatbelts.

Moye is being held at the Forsyth County Jail without bond.
