DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman is critically hurt, and a suspect is dead after a shooting at a DeKalb apartment complex early Wednesday morning, according to the police department.
Authorities responded to The Landing at Pleasantdale Apartments along Meadowglen Village Lane around 4:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, the police department said they found a woman who had been shot twice, and she was taken to the hospital critically hurt. DeKalb Police said the suspect was found dead.
"At this time, it appears that the suspect shot the victim and then turned the weapon on himself," the police department said.
11Alive crews at the scene saw DeKalb patrol cars surrounding the apartment complex.
Investigators are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
