DECATUR, Ga. — Roads are back open in Decatur on Thursday morning following a gas leak, according to Atlanta Gas and Light.
It happened at the intersection of Kathryn Avenue and Coventry Road. The gas company said no customers lost natural gas service.
Atlanta Gas Light was working on the water main lines at this location as it hit a 6-inch gas line, according to the company.
Crews were on-site, and the company said the fire department evacuated four houses. Officials said crews turned off the gas for repair, which should be done within two hours.
