DECATUR, Ga. -- The woman accused of stealing more than $13,000 from Miller Grove High School students was indicted by a DeKalb County grand jury.
Daphane Murphy is charged with two theft by taking charges dating back to 2009 and 2010.
"Ms. Murphy betrayed the trust of the cheerleaders, the senior class, the parents and the administration of Miller Grove High School," said DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James. "She lined her pockets with the money generated from various fundraising efforts of teenagers to benefit her own personal greed."
Murphy is accused to stealing money from the cheerleading and senior class accounts while working as a paraprofessional at Miller Grove High School.
She turned herself in on Wednesday and was released on a $24,000 bond.
