DeKalb County Public Health Centers are extending clinic hours and walk-ins for back-to-school

Health clinics centers will be open until 7:30 p.m. from July 30 through August 1, and again on August 6 and 7.
Metro Atlanta school districts are stepping up their efforts to ensure they are fully staffed on the first day of school.

ATLANTA — DeKalb County Public Health Centers are extending their hours and adding extra walk-in availability in honor of the start of school. 

Centers throughout the county will hold extended hours until 7:30 p.m. on July 30 through August 1 and again on August 6 and 7. Additional walk-in availability will also be added between Monday, July 29, and Wednesday, August 17. 

Extended hours will be available at the following four DeKalb Health Centers: 

  • Clifton Springs Health Center: 3110 Clifton Springs Rd, Decatur, GA 30034
  • East DeKalb Health Center: 2277 S Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd, Lithonia, GA 30058
  • North DeKalb Health Center: 3807 Clairmont Rd, Chamblee, GA 30341
  • T.O. Vinson Health Center: 440 Winn Way, Decatur, GA 30030

Services at these centers include immunizations, vision, hearing, dental and nutrition screenings. Patients can also access their birth certificates through the DeKalb County Public Health Vital Records office.

Parents are asked to bring their child's immunization record, insurance card and a payment method to all Health Center visits. 

Georgia law requires students in public and private schools to have an up-to-date immunization form. If a student is entering a public school for the first time, they must also have a completed Georgia form 3300 for vision, hearing, nutritional screenings and dental screenings. The first day of school in Decatur is July 30; the first day is August 5 in DeKalb County.
