ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines earned the top spot for customer satisfaction in first or business class and in premium economy, according to a new J.D. Power study.
J.D. Power released the results of its 2024 North America Airline Satisfaction Study on Wednesday, and Delta had some of the highest marks among airlines.
Delta received the highest score, 725, in the first/business segment, moving up from second last year. The airline was also ranked highest in the premium economy for the second year in a row, with a score of 743.
“This is a wonderful reflection of our elevated customer experience, fueled by the unparalleled service of our 100,000 Delta people worldwide,” said Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines, in a release.
J.D. Power's annual airline rankings incorporate survey results from recent travelers on multiple factors, including ease of travel, interactions with staff, onboard experience and value for price paid.
The firm notes that although air travel is seeing record crowds, airlines' efforts to improve the overall flight experience have prevailed.
“The big takeaway from this year’s study is the power of people to positively influence the overall flight experience. Airlines that are investing in staff training and recruitment are finding ways to overcome the negative effects of crowded gates and planes simply by being nice to their customers.”
