Two people, dogs escape burning DeKalb County home

The fire broke out before 6:30 a.m. at a home on Dering Circle.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two people and pets are safe after escaping their burning home on Thursday morning, according to DeKalb County fire officials. 

The fire broke out before 6:30 a.m. at a home on Dering Circle. When crews with the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department arrived, two people and two dogs had already fled the home. Not much information has been released, but they said crews were still working to put out the blaze. 

Firefighters said heavy flames were coming from the porch and that they were still clearing hot spots, and looking for the cause.
