Douglasville business heavily damaged by fire

The blaze happened at K & L Window Tenting on Broad Street, officials said.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Authorities report extensive damage after a large fire that left a massive black plume towering over downtown Douglasville on Wednesday.

Officials said the fire happened near the intersection of Broad Street and Highway 78 around 2:30 p.m. That's where crews found K & L Window Tinting at 6508 Broad Street engulfed in flames.

Reports from the ground suggest several vehicles were also damaged in the fire, along with the business itself. The cause of the fire hasn't been released. Authorities didn't immediately report any injuries in connection with the fire.

The area where the fire occurred appears to be a commercial/industrial section of Douglasville, with residential dwellings not far away.  Authorities didn't report the business fire spreading to any other area.
