Coca-Cola signs partnership with Major League Soccer

The Coca-Cola Company has signed a multi-year deal with Major League Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation.

ATLANTA -- Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Company has signed a multi-year deal with Major League Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation.

The new partnership means Coca-Cola is now the official non-alcoholic beverage provider for U.S. Soccer and the Mexican National Team's U.S. Tour. Coca-Cola has supported the Mexican National Team for more than 30 years, and has been part of its annual U.S. tour for 12 years.

The company also brings soccer to communities through its Copa Coca-Cola soccer tournament, POWDERADE Sueño Alianza talent search, and the Club Balón Rojo ball-kids program with local Boys & Girls Clubs.

"With this new partnership, we are committed to growing soccer here in the U.S. and using the power of our brands to engage and refresh fans at every level of the sport," Ivan Pollard, SVP Investment, Connections and Assets for Coca-Cola North America said in a release.

Atlanta will get a new MLS team in 2017.
