EAST POINT, Ga. – An Atlanta DJ is accused of hiring a man to kill his wife.
Andre Jason Pugh, known as DJ Awesome in Atlanta-area clubs, is charged in a murder-for-hire plot. Investigators said that Pugh hired his childhood friend Adrian Harley to kill his wife and then make it look like an attempted robbery-gone-wrong.
Pugh's wife, Tiffany Jackson Pugh, was found dead on Nov. 23 at an upstairs bedroom of a home. Investigators said it appeared that the 34-year-old woman had been shot in the face.
A small child had crawled into bed with Tiffany Pugh shortly after she was shot and was found clinging to the body, investigators said.
Pugh and Harley are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and burglary.
Police said Pugh and his wife had been having marital problems, and may have been on the verge of a divorce, which investigators believe was a likely a motive in the murder.
Pugh's court appearance was rescheduled for Tuesday.
Harley waved his first court appearance. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 22.
