Fannin County tax commissioner charged after GBI investigation

FANNIN COUNTY, Ga. — The Fannin County tax commissioner was arrested on Thursday for multiple charges, including forgery, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. 

Shirley Sosebee, 63, of Blue Ridge, is facingcharges of forgery in the first degree and violation of oath by a public officer.

According to the GBI, she forged the victim's signature on a deed to transfer the title and essentially gain a Fannin County property for her family.

Sosebee was booked in the Fannin County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond, according to the GBI. The Fannin County Sheriff's Office requested the GBI to assist in Sosebee's investigation. 

This incident is still under investigation.
