'Baby AJ' finally going home after successful kidney transplant

The 2-year-old boy, who has become known as "Baby AJ," was born without kidneys.

ATLANTA -- A child who drew national attention over his struggle to get a life-saving surgery has returned home.

"Baby AJ" Burgess has been released from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egelston after finally receiving his much-need kidney in late November, Anana Parris, director of operations with Davis Bozeman Law Firm confirmed Friday afternoon. The firm is representing the family.
