Crews extinguish fire at Cobb County storage facility

Cobb County Fire said its crews responded to the Extra Space Storage facility at 1046 Richard D Sailors Pkwy shortly before 1 p.m

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A fire sparked at a storage facility in Cobb County Tuesday afternoon. 

Cobb County Fire said its crews responded to the Extra Space Storage facility at 1046 Richard D Sailors Pkwy shortly before 1 p.m. The storage facility is down the street from the Publix Super Market at Powder Springs. 

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the facility's roof near solar panels that were mounted. 

Crews were able to extinguish the flames, according to Cobb County Fire.

At this time, it's unclear if there were any injuries or how extensive the damage was.
