GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A fire at an extended stay in Norcross left 50 people displaced on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
Firefighters responded shortly before 5 p.m. at InTown Suites Extended Stay at 6067 Buford Highway. Crews then deployed multiple fire hoses to fight the flames and helped with evacuating the hotel, according to a release.
Fire attack teams were able to control the flames by around 5:30 p.m. Atlanta Gas Light and Georgia Power also disconnected utility service to the building.
Everyone was able to safely escape the building and no injuries were reported, Gwinnett County Fire said. However, an estimated 50 people were displaced by the incident, fire officials said. The American Red Cross is working with hotel management to assist these individuals.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
