Two firefighters from Meriwether County are recovering from minor injuries after their fire engine hydroplaned and overturned on Sunday night around 6:30 p.m.
The fire engine was responding to a vehicle accident on Georgia Highway 85, north of Gay, when it hit water on the roadway, hydroplaned and overturned. The truck reportedly hit The Silo Steakhouse when it crashed.
Both firefighters in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, according to the Meriwether County Fire Rescue, and were taken to a local hospital to be treated. They were expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday night.
There is no word on their current condition.
