Former GBI agent arrested, accused of child molestation

MACON, Ga. -- A former GBI agent was arrested and charged with several counts of child molestation, according to a GBI news release.
Former GBI agent Charles Woodall is charged with nine counts of child molestation.

MACON, Ga. -- A former GBI agent was arrested and charged with several counts of child molestation, according to a GBI news release.

Charles Woodall, 34, was a GBI agent from December 2011 until his resignation last month, the news release states. The investigation against him was launched by the GBI and the Bibb County District Attorney's Office.

Allegations of sexual misconduct were made against Woodall to the District Attorney's office and the GBI initiated its investigation in September, the news release states.

The charges against Woodall include nine counts of child molestation, six counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors and one count of violation of oath of office.

The news release does not state where the alleged crimes occurred or when.

Woodall was arrested at his family's Knoxville, Tennessee home and booked into the Knox County jail, the news release states.

He's awaiting extradition back to Macon.

Bibb County District Attorney David Cooke has scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. today about the case.
