FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- The Fulton County Police Department has established a memorial fund to help the children of a detective who was killed in the line of duty.

Terence Avery Green was shot to death Mar. 4 while responding to a call in south Fulton County. He is survived by four sons.

Donations to Det. Green's children can be made at any Wells Fargo branch.

The man accused of killing Green, Amanuel Menghesha, was shot by police and is recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital. Menghesha's family members said he knew the victim well; Green even stopped by his house every two weeks to check on the welfare of his 15-year-old daughter.
