ATLANTA — A celebration of life will be held for an Atlanta Police officer who died following a medical emergency last week.
The service for Kenya D. Galloway will be held at Passion City Church on Garson Drive Friday at 1 p.m.
Atlanta Police said that Kenya Galloway was currently assigned to the Executive Protection Unit and that he was on his way to work when he was found unresponsive due to a medical emergency. Police said he was found near the Atlanta Public Safety Annex Building.
He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum was there a little after midnight with other officers. Georgia State Police Department and other agencies were also seen at the hospital in support of the officer.
His son, Benjamin Galloway, is a freshman offensive lineman on the Georgia Tech football team.
