Four people were injured and one charged with boating under the influence after a nighttime crash on Lake Lanier.
A spokesman for the Department of Natural Resources told 11Alive News rangers received an emergency call at 9:35 Sunday night. When DNR rangers arrived at the boat crash near Vann's Tavern on Lake Lanier, they found multiple injuries and alcohol.
Every member of the Romeo family riding in a 29-foot Bayliner Boat was injured in some way. Parents Robert and Patricia were boating with 17-year-old Sierra and 21-year old Robert. Injuries included cuts, bruises, and a broken leg. The second boat was a 24-foot Ebb Tide. Thirty-nine-year-old Christina Jennings of Atlanta was charged with boating under the influence.
Another person who police say was also driving the Ebb Tide was not charged.
DNR tells 11Alive News they're still investigating what caused the crash. Other charges are possible depending on the outcome of that investigation.
