GAINESVILLE, Ga--Gainesville police, on Thursday, arrested a man for allegedly murdering his girlfriend.
Police told 11Alive News that 21-year-old Christopher Vargas Zayas, of Gainesville, was detained after the death of his 26-year-old girlfriend Carly Dorian Andrews.
Andrews was found shot to death at an apartment at 1750 Norton Dr.
At first, police investigated reports that the woman had shot herself or was the victim of an accidental shooting. However, as they probed further, they found enough evidence to file murder charges against Zayas.
He was arrested and is now being held in the Hall County Jail.
