HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- Crews continue to search for a woman fell off a sailboat Sunday afternoon in Lake Lanier.
DNR tells 11Alive that 31-year-old Madeline Sinagra has not been located yet and crews went back out to the lake Tuesday to look for her.
According to the Hall County sheriff's office, two people fell off the boat around 4 p.m. and only one person resurfaced. That person was picked up by a passing vessel, but the woman did not resurface.
Authorities said Game Wardens are using the side scan and sector scan sonar with a very methodical grid search.
The water in the search area ranges from 65 to 100 feet deep. There are also a lot of trees on the bottom, making the search difficult.
Many that know and love her hope that she is found soon.
"She was so full of life and had an extremely big heart and loved her friends and family so much," said Kimmie Hart, a friend of Sinagra.
Monday, DNR Aviation flew around the area looking for Sinagra. Hall County Sheriff's Office and Fire are assisting and have divers on the scene and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is also helping with the efforts to find Sinagra.
