Georgia Southern student released from hospital after deadly crash

One of two Georgia Southern nursing students injured in a deadly crash has been released from the hospital.

LOGANVILLE, Ga. -- One of two Georgia Southern nursing students injured in a deadly crash has been released from the hospital.

Megan Richards, of Loganville, was hospitalized in Savannah after the crash on Wednesday. She was then moved to a local hospital before being released.

Richards attended Loganville High School. Her family released a brief statement about the accident, saying they are praying for the families of everyone involved.

Five Georgia Southern nursing students were killed in the multi-vehicle accident. The young women – Emily Clark, of Powder Springs; Catherine "McKay" Pittman, of Alpharetta; Caitlyn Baggett, of Millen; Morgan Bass, of Leesburg; and Abbie Deloach, of Savannah -- were traveling to St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah for their final clinical rotation of the school year.

Clark and Pittman will be laid to rest this weekend.

Another student, Brittney McDaniel, was also injured.
