WINDER, Ga. — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in the wake of the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School that claimed the lives of four people and injured nine others on Wednesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed two students and two teachers were killed in the shooting. The agency later identified the victims as the following:

  • Richard Aspinwall, 39
  • Cristina Irimie, 53
  • Mason Schermerhorn, 14
  • Christian Angulo, 14

"As all Georgians continue to grieve with their families and community, I have ordered flags on all state buildings to be lowered in honor of Richard Aspinwall, Christina Irimie, Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn. May we remember and commemorate their lives in all the days to come," Kemp wrote on X.

Kemp stated flags would remain at half-staff at all state buildings and grounds until the end of the last victim's burial.

The GBI has identified the alleged shooter as 14-year-old Colt Gray, who is a student at the school. Gray will be charged with murder and be tried as an adult, according to the GBI.
