ATLANTA -- Happy birthday, Azizi, Hatari, Hondo and Zamaya!
The lion cubs were born Nov. 19, 2013 at Zoo Atlanta. They make up the second litter of female Kiki and male Kamau.
Zoo Atlanta spokeswoman Keisha Hines said the lions have begun to develop distinct traits and personalities. Zamaya, the only female in the bunch, began eating meat before her brothers; Hondo already weighs more than 200 pounds and is the most independent of the litter.
African lion cubs usually remain with their mothers until they are about 18 months old. Hines said the male cubs have many more milestones ahead, including developing the African lion's signature mane.
