GUIDE | Where to find rare Pokémon around Atlanta

Pokémon Go captured the nation's heart almost instantly. Less than a week after its release, it became the biggest mobile game in American history, attracting around 21 million daily users.

For even more perspective, it attracted more users than Twitter in just three days.

Pretty impressive.

Now that everyone has the app, the time for capturing Rattatas and Pidgeys has come to end...it's time to hunt for something a little more elusive.

Over the course of two hours (11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.) on a Thursday, multimedia producer Greg Rossino embarked on a search to try and find rare and unique Pokémon throughout Atlanta. Here's what he found...

Parks and college campuses around Atlanta seem to be the best places to find rare Pokémon.

Specifically:

  • Piedmont Park (especially around Lake Clara Meer)
  • Centennial Olympic Park
  • Georgia State University and Hurt Park
  • SCAD
