GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An elderly woman is back home with her family, all thanks to Gwinnett Police using technology to find her after she was reported missing.
The department shared the good news in a social media post on Wednesday.
On Feb. 27, an officer patrolling in Buford was approached by a person claiming that her 82-year-old friend was missing. Police quickly sprang into action, contacting their Situational Awareness and Crime Response Center for assistance.
Shortly after, the elderly woman's car was seen entering Gwinnett County via Flock cameras, and analysts swiftly alerted police. They located the vehicle and pulled it over.
The missing woman told officers she was lost and did not know how to return home. Police were able to safely guide the woman home and reunite her with her family.
