Search for man accused of carjacking woman at Hapeville gas station, police say

HAPEVILLE, Ga. — Hapeville Police are searching for a man accused of carjacking a woman at a gas station Monday evening. 

It happened at the Shell gas station at 761 N Central Ave. The police department said it received a call that an SUV was stolen while the owner was in the back of the vehicle trying to get items to wash clothes. 

Investigators believe the man got into the vehicle and drove off with her in it. 

Hapeville Police said she yelled at him and he refused to stop and let her out. That's when police said she jumped out of the car.
