NEWNAN, Ga. — Meal kit company HelloFresh will shutter its Newnan distribution center, laying off 727 workers.
The Berlin, Germany-based publicly traded company will close its more than 200,000-square-foot facility in Coweta County, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice sent to the state.
The distribution center at 510 International Park will close in July, according to the notice.
The Newnan facility was HelloFresh’s first in the Southeast, announced as an economic development win by Gov. Brian Kemp in 2020.
A HelloFresh spokesperson in a statement said the company opened the distribution center due to a surge in demand during the pandemic.
