Volunteers, donations needed ahead of Thanksgiving holiday at Hosea Helps

The non-profit said its "critically low" on key items to meet the demand.

The organization, known for giving back and serving the community since 1971, has put out an urgent request asking for donations to support its Thanksgiving Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 23, and Thursday, Nov. 28. Organizers said the annual event normally serves more than 2,000 individuals and families.

But this year, the non-profit said it's "critically low" on key items to meet the demand.

  • green beans (standard 14.5 ounce pull-top cans)
  • hams
  • toys (new and unwrapped toys for ages 13 and under. No stuff animals)
  • turkey
