NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with the Newton County Sheriff's Office, are investigating after human remains were found in some Covington woods on Wednesday.
Authorities said they found the remains in the woods near Hollingsworth Road.
Law enforcement sent the remains to the GBI's Medical Examiner's Office to identify them.
No other details were released. Agents are still looking into the incident and circumstances surrounding the death.
