CANTON, Ga. — Canton traffic investigators are looking into a fatal crash that happened Wednesday morning along northbound Interstate 575.
Officers with the Canton Police Department were called to an area just north of Exit 16 around 9:16 a.m. where they found a tractor-trailer had overturned and was stopped against the median wall with debris scattered across the interstate.
According to investigators, the tractor-trailer was traveling in the middle lane when the driver was trying to avoid another vehicle that was trying to merge from the right lane. The driver lost control of the tractor-trailer, causing it to tip over on its driver's side.
The driver, identified as 65-year-old Ronald Campbell, died at the crash site. He was from Auburn, Georgia, according to officers.
