ATLANTA — Rivian Automotive Inc. laid-off about 1% of its workforce April 17.
The layoffs come after the company laid off 10% of its salaried employees in February.
A Rivian spokesperson told Atlanta Business Chronicle the layoffs in February impacted primarily the product team and commercial business, while the latest cuts affected business support staff.
"We continue to work to right-size the business and ensure alignment to our priorities," a Rivian spokesperson said in a prepared statement. "This was a difficult decision, but a necessary one to support our goal to be gross margin positive by the end of the year."
Electric Vehicle sales are slowing
Rivian isn't the only electric vehicle company making cuts as EV sales continue to slow.
