Fulton water officials rushing to repair 8-inch main

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Officials in Fulton County are working to repair a water main damaged by contractor, Wednesday afternoon.

The 8-inch main on Buice Road in Johns Creek supplies water to several subdivision in the area.

As a result, water service will be interrupted by repair work including Doublegate, Farmbrook, Fox Creek, Kingston Crossing, Lakeview Estates, Linkwood and Spring Garden.

Traffic on Buice Road has also been closed between Twingate Drive and Clublands and Greenwich Park drives.

Officials with the county's water resources department expect the water main to be repaired by 9 p.m.

Preliminary road repairs are also expected to be finished during the night to allow traffic through the area in time for morning rush.

However, county officials said motorists should expect additional interruptions on Thursday and Friday as workers make permanent repairs.
