FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Several Democratic leaders and community members came together Friday to open a new campaign office in Fulton County in support of Vice President Kamala Harris' bid for president.
The office opened on E. Cleveland Avenue in East Point. This is the 22nd campaign office opened by Democrats in Georgia in an effort to "elect Vice President Harris and Democrats up and down the ticket," the campaign said.
This comes just days before Harris is set to make a visit to Atlanta next week for the first time since announcing she would enter the presidential race.
The event was attended by key Democratic leaders, including U.S. Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Nikema Williams, East Point Mayor Deana Holiday Ingraham, Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Caucus Chair Gloria Jenkins, and Robert Dawson, who is running for Georgia House District-65.
Speakers at the event highlighted the need to, as they described, protect Georgians' freedoms, economic future, and democracy, a release said.
