ATLANTA — Kenyan President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto will be making a stop in Atlanta later this month ahead of a State Visit to the White House.
Mayor Andre Dickens will host the president and first lady May 20-21.
The visit underscores Atlanta's global standing and will strengthen partnerships in business, technology and innovation, education and within the African Diaspora, according to a release.
“On behalf of our great city, it is our honor to welcome President and First Lady Ruto to Atlanta. I look forward to learning how we can further strengthen our cultural and economic partnerships, as well as joining fellow leaders in providing the world-class hospitality for which Atlanta is renowned,” said Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
While in Atlanta, President Ruto will meet with civic leaders and luminaries from the city's global services industries, creative economy and international health institutions, and further discuss with Mayor Dickens strategies in the development of affordable housing.
President Ruto will visit the White House on May 23, where he will meet with President Joe Biden to mark 60 years of U.S.-Kenya diplomatic ties.
