LAGRANGE, Ga. — A two-year-old died Sunday, according to the LaGrange Police Department, after wandering out of their apartment and into the complex's swimming pool.
The LaGrange Police Department said it happened on Sunday at the Cameron Crossing Apartment Complex on Meadow Terrace. According to the department, the two-year-old girl and her four-year-old sibling left the apartment together "without an adult's knowledge." The two-year-old and the four-year-old then became separated.

"Family members, residents, police, and fire personnel immediately began searching the area. Fire and police personnel located the two year old child in the complex swimming pool," a police statement said. "Emergency medical aid was provided and the child was transported to Well Star West Georgia where she was later pronounced deceased."
It's unclear if there will be any charges in the incident. LaGrange PD described it as active and asked anyone with information about the incident to contact police at 706-883-2603 or Detective A Blane directly at 706-883-2623.
