FOREST PARK, Ga. — Roughly 50 firefighters are battling a large fire at a warehouse in Forest Park Tuesday morning, according to officials with Forest Park Fire & Emergency Services
Forest Park Fire Captain Ian Hogan said crews received the call around 9:20 a.m. The fire broke out at La Fortuna Imports at the 4600 block of Lake Mirror Place.
"It was heavily involved when we got here," Hogan said. "Our primary focus, of course, whenever we have someone trapped is to get that person out and once that person was removed-- because of heavy flame involvement-- we did go into a defensive operation."
The person who was trapped was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, Hogan added.
Drivers are being asked to stay clear of the area and use an alternative route at this time.
Morrow and Clayton County firefighters are also helping with the blaze.
11Alive has a crew at the scene, where flames and heavy smoke were seen billowing.
Fire investigators are still working to determine how the flames started.
