Cobb Co. sixth grader could face arrest for online threats, district says

The incident happened at Lindley Sixth Grade Academy in Mableton.

MABLETON, Ga. — A student at Lindley Sixth Grade Academy in Mableton may be arrested, the Cobb County School District said, after making online threats.

The school district said a student had been identified after an investigation regarding the rumor of a threat.

"The police continue to investigate whether the student's post will lead to the student's arrest for posting online threats, but there is no threat to the students or staff at Lindley Sixth Grade Academy," the district said.

A parent of a child who goes to the school sent 11Alive a screenshot of the threat, which could not be independently verified.

The screenshot of the social post sent to 11Alive said: "I'm going to shoot up LINDLEY SIXTH GRADE ACADEMY" and listed off a set of grievances.
