The Democratic National Committee hosted two events Thursday, bringing some of parties' top members - including presidential hopefuls - to Atlanta.
Thursday morning, the DNC held its African American Leadership Council (AALC) Summit at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
Hundreds of people, including activists, allies and supporters gathered to listen to issue-based panels and guest speakers. The guest speakers were presidential candidates Senator Cory Booker and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Thursday night's fundraiser brought even more speakers to the forefront. Democrats packed Flourish Atlanta on Maple Drive for the IWillVote Gala.
During the event, former Vice President Joe Biden declared that he no longer supports the Hyde Amendment, a long-standing Congressional ban on using federal health care money to pay for abortions.
"If I believe health care is a right, as I do, I can no longer support (the) amendment," he stated.
Beto O’Rourke - another presidential hopeful - also took the stage as he talked about voter suppression and his stance on politics.
Some of the other speakers at the fundraiser included Georgia's own Stacey Abrams, Congresswoman Lucy McBath, along with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
Abrams, who closed the night out, told the crowd, "I’m here to announce we’re going to win in 2020.”
