ATLANTA — The punches keep on coming for some people who were forced out of their homes after a massive fire at The Reserve at LaVista Walk off Cheshire Bridge Road.
"It's really heartbreaking knowing that so many of us are just going through hardships," Keshaun Jones explained.
Jones said he lost everything in the fire that broke out this past Friday night.
"Basically, if it wasn't caught on fire or you don't have smoke or water damage, there are people looting," he said.
Video shared with 11Alive shows a person allegedly stealing several different items from a unit and then running from the complex.
Pictures posted on social media show glass doors busted out of units at the complex.
King Sell shared video with us that showed his fourth-floor unit ransacked and said he had stuff stolen. He mentioned that the security guard told him they believed the thieves got in through a first-floor unit and then started going throughout the building on multiple floors.
"They're pretty much just wreaking havoc on that building," Jones said.
Security has stepped up around the building. A fence is up and security guards are patrolling the area.
In a couple of pictures shared with us, a security guard was seen stopping one of the looters and they were able to recover someone's laptop computer.
The Atlanta Police Department is urging residents who have been a victim of looting or who may come back and find out their place was targeted to call them immediately and file a police report.
As of Thursday night, the fire remains under investigation. A couple was arrested on the scene and accused of shooting fireworks off the roof of the building, which investigators believe may be to blame for the fire.
