COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A woman was killed and five people, including four children, were injured in a two-car accident in Cobb County Tuesday morning.
It happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Lakeshore Drive in Mableton.
An initial investigation revealed the wreck occurred when a Volvo S70 turned left into the path of a Ford Expedition, causing the Ford to slam into the Volvo's driver's side door.
The Volvo driver, 43-year-old Joycelyn Hunt, died at the scene. Four children were inside the car; they were transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ford driver, 45-year-old Deangela Clay, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
