Man allegedly followed 3 women around Gwinnett Walmart, exposing himself while they were shopping

The man is accused of following a mother, her daughter and her niece through several aisles around a Gwinnett Walmart.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police are searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to several women inside of a Walmart on March 18.

The man is accused of following a 38-year-old mother, her 19-year-old daughter and her 19-year-old niece through several aisles around the Walmart at 3435 Centerville Hwy near Snellville before he unzipped his pants and exposed his genitals to them in the ketchup aisle, according to an incident report obtained by 11Alive.

"It's very disturbing," said Cpl. Juan Madiedo, with Gwinnett County Police. "Clearly, he had no intention of purchasing any items. He was just pushing a cart around the store with the intent of just following these women."

The mother told police that every time she asked him why he was following them, he wouldn't respond, and after she began recording him, the man quickly left. The recording of the man was obtained as evidence by police.

Police said the suspect is about 5-foot-6 and weighs 180 pounds. He allegedly left the Walmart in a white Mazda four-door sedan. Police are hoping that the distributing photos will help surface more possible victims and witnesses and result in his arrest.

"It's a weird situation. Scary, definitely. You probably feel violated, vulnerable. God knows what," said Madiedo, adding when the women spoke with police, they were "distraught" and "angry." "But, at the end of the day, what we need to accomplish is identifying the suspect and making sure that there are no other victims from here on forward."

Madiedo said "at the very least," the suspect will face some type of public indecency charges.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Gwinnett County Police detectives at 770-513-5300. People can also submit an anonymous top to Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
