DORAVILLE, Ga. — A man claimed he was pushed down a ravine in DeKalb County early Wednesday morning leading to severe head injuries, officials said.

Doraville Police said they got a call around 1:15 a.m. about a person bleeding behind a Title Max building off Buford Highway. When they got there and searched the area, they found a man lying in the woods down an embankment before EMS arrived and rushed him to Grady Hospital.

The man suffered a fractured skull, a brain bleed and a broken leg as he told a Doraville Police detective that he was shoved down the embankment after getting into an argument with a man experiencing homelessness in the area.

DeKalb firefighters and Doraville police officers were able to help pull the man to safety, officials said.

The victim told police that he knew the man and when they started talking, it escalated into an argument where the man claimed he was then beaten and pushed down the hill. Police said the victim told them that he could identify the man and that he was wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans and had on a blue backpack.

Police said he told them he didn't remember much because he blacked out.
